we were off on a domestic flight from rotuora to christchurch this day.
the icon of christchurch has to be this cathedral. a lady was openly preaching and evanglising.
we didn't have much plans for that day so we hopped on a bus and went to the nearest mall, riccarton. for the whole duration we were there, LG managed to walk the whole mall while i was stuck in a shop called diva. i was quite certain i have never came across accessories in s'pore branches that caught my eyes that way and that also meant damage done to my pocket as well.
Day 7- Mt Cook
this morning was an exciting one. we were supposed to be in the foyer at 7.30am. for some reason, either the alarm wasn't working or we were too tired that we didn't even hear it, we only jumped up in shock when the receptionist called us at 7.30am! boy, we set the guiness record of washing up and packing up to go that day. good thing the bus driver waited, otherwise our whole trip would be ruined as this ride would bring us eventually to queenstown which is a 8hrs ride away.
he bought a snow cap IMMEDIATELY we got to our first morning tea break stop. reason? no time to gel his hair and he had to hide them all!
girls will always have the easier way. hairband to pull back everything when there's no time to even comb hair.
after more than 4hrs of bus ride, we arrived at Mt Cook and were greeted with a pleasant surprise. it was SNOWING! it's big deal cos it's the first time they had snow during summer. it's a double bonus for us as we have never seen or played with snow before :)

an afternoon tea-break at the foot of the mountain. it was a freezing 7 degree, meaning that it would probably be like 2 degrees earlier on?
the last stop for the bus ride that day was at jone's fruit stall. i like this place because they sell all kinds of fresh fruits which are like staples for me :) a big punnett of strawberries only cost NZ$2.90 and they were the freshest and sweetest ones i have ever tasted! lotsa dried fruits and nuts sold here as well.
we finally reached Queenstown in the evening where LG had his craving of steak satisfied at beefeater steak house.
it was sooooooo cold in queenstown and i ended up buying thermal wear to keep myself warm. i wouldn't want to spend such money on things that i hardly use but i was already trembling like mad, so no choice.
finally nice and warm to take a good shot with the evening sun.
Day 8- highlights of queenstown
we took a short day tour around the tour that morning where we were shown scenic areas where the Lord of the Ring is filmed;visited the kawarau bridge where the well-known first bungy jump spot in NZ is. we also went to arrowtown which used to be a gold mining area and tasted wine at a local winery.

we caught someone jumping on camera! a freaking 5 seconds experience which cost NZ$165.
in the afternoon, we went for paraflight.
thank God that i didn't fall down from mid-air! we were taking this photo when we were at least 20 metres above the sea. my fingers were placed on the clip that wasn't working so well. we were warned not to touch it but i have no idea why i placed my hands there too and i didn't realise it till i saw the photo. good grief.
after paraflight, we went for another skyline gondola ride cos we were told by the driver cum guide that it's the nicest place to be around. we were glad that we took her advice as the scenary was breath-taking up there.
